Welcome to Black Dynamix! We’re excited to have you on board as a developer. This document will help you set up your work environment, access company resources, and understand the workflow and expectations for you.

Whether you identify more with the frontend, backend, or a bit of both, you’re joining a team that values curiosity, craftsmanship, and professionalism.

The work you’ll do will shape how our clients and users experience products and services, and how our systems scale behind the scenes. We hire for trajectory as much as for experience; so bring your questions, your ideas, and your whole self.

Your perspective and contributions matter from day one.

Your First Week

Communication and Meetings

All task-related communication happens publicly inside ClickUp chat channels. We treat ClickUp as the hub for work discussions, decisions, progress updates, and task context, because keeping conversation in the open helps everyone learn, reduces repeated questions, and means new teammates can catch up quickly.

Please avoid using direct messages for task work, even when you run into an issue. Post it in the relevant ClickUp channel or task thread so the team can benefit from the solution. Direct messages to your lead are reserved for personal topics or things that truly need privacy. If you need a focused 1:1 call with your lead, you can request a SyncUp directly in ClickUp, and they’ll set it up with you.

We also expect an end-of-day report from you in ClickUp, even if it’s a single sentence; this keeps everyone in the loop on what moved forward, what’s next, and what might be blocked.

Work Schedule and time off

We expect a 44-hour work week, but we don’t use any monitoring system. The way you distribute those hours is up to you. As long as you meet deadlines, submit timely merge requests, and maintain high-quality output, you’re free to manage your time in whatever pattern works best for you. The one scheduling constraint we ask for is a two-hour daily availability window for occasional meetings or quick team discussions, so we have reliable overlap when we need it.

Check out our calendar that lists the official recognized days off for the company. Any day not specified in that calendar is considered a normal workday, even if it’s a local or international holiday where you live, so please use that calendar as your source of truth. If you need to take a day or two off, just send a direct message to your lead to coordinate it. For longer stretches of time off, contact HR so they can handle scheduling, policies, and any required paperwork.

Key Contacts

Your Engineering Lead is your primary point of contact for technical direction, priority alignment, code reviews, and unblocking day-to-day work.

Your Product and Design Director partners with you on roadmap direction, feature expectations, and acceptance criteria; and also supports you with UX/UI intent, and design handoffs clarifications.

For logistics like contract renewals, longer time off, or policy questions, HR is the right place to go. For anything payroll-related Accounting is the right contact. For access issues or tooling problems (accounts, credentials), security boundaries, or potential incidents, reach out to IT and Security.

If you ever have a concern that you don’t feel comfortable discussing with anyone else, or you believe it needs a higher level of escalation, you can contact the Executive Director directly via the provided email, and they’ll handle it discreetly and appropriately.

If you spot ways this onboarding could be clearer or more helpful, please let us know. Continuous improvement applies to docs too.

If you have any questions or require assistance, please reach out to the appropriate department.
